Job Title: Head of Compliance

The Opportunity:  

We are seeking a Head of Compliance to partner with first line management to promote an ethics-based culture, delivering practical solutions, guidance and training and to identify and manage Compliance Risks implementing policies, processes, controls and assurance related to the Compliance Risk Universe and local requirements. This role reports to the Regional Head of Compliance APAC.

As a member of the Singapore Executive Committee, you will work closely with various departments to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Your role will be instrumental in fostering a compliance culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Ensure the Compliance function’s strategy is aligned with business strategy, legal requirements and trends
  • Develop and maintain an effective compliance framework, policies, and procedures
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the business
  • Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and assurance activities to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions as necessary, ensuring consistency and alignment with Group policies and procedures.
  • Provide advisory, guidance and training to employees on compliance matters
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance in business processes
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in compliance
  • Represent the company in meetings and discussions with regulators, industry associations, and other external parties as required.
  • Lead and mentor a team of compliance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement across multiple locations
  • Support in providing regulatory advice for regional projects, regional led assurance activities and reporting   

Your Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; additional certifications in compliance are a plus
  • 8 to 10 years of proven experience in a compliance leadership role, preferably within insurance or banking industry
  • Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of integrity and ethical standards
